    Apache 2.2 with PHP 5

I've installed Apache 2.2 and PHP 5. Everything should be working, since my double- and triple-checking tells me everything is configured.

However, when I try to access any PHP file on my server, I simply get

    Forbidden

You don't have permission to access <the file> on this server.

I realize that Apache 2.2 and PHP 5 are not officially compatible. I downloaded the special PHP development DLL for Apache 2.2, though, so at this point, things should work fine.

By the way, while you may tell me this is the wrong section, I'm almost completely certain that this is a server configuration error, and not something wrong with my PHP installation.

Don't be impatient, this is a multi-national forum, the expert you require and answer from could be asleep because it is night time where they are when you post your question.

A assume you have altered the Apache configuration to tell it about php files and how to deal with them?

Apache 2.2 is only compatible with PHP 5.2 and later.
What operating system are you performing this install on?

Forbidden would be a security restriction. Check the .conf file and see if there are no unintentional restrictions to accessing the pages.

You might also want to check your permissions on your files & folders. I find that most of the time this is where the problem lies.
