How to email an editable Access data entry form?

    Hello,

I could definitely use some help. I'm not even sure if this is possible, but if someone could point out a few options, I would appreciate it.

I would like to be able to email an Access form to someone that doesn't have access to the database (or internal servers). I would like them to be able to open the form, fill in data and be able to send it back. I know I can send a txt file, xls, etc., but I want to maintian the original design of the form.

Any ideas? Am I forced to use other MS products? Help!

    Thanks,

    David

As far as I know this is not something that can be done with Access, as forms themselves are not independent of Access, nor can they be divorced from their underlying recordsource in the way you describe.

There are other ways to collect data from users through custom-designed forms using Sharepoint or Infopath for instance, and it is possible using these or other products (even Word and Excel) to connect data collected from the user back into a database.

You'd need to investigate these to work out which is the best option for you, set up the data entry form, then the means to connect them back to your database again.

In AC2007 you can do this. It has a new feature to collect data from an email.

You basically follow a wizard and pick what data you want to collect from the tables and it will create an HTML message to be sent to the recipient who fills it in and send it back and it automatically fills in the data into the table.

      cheers,
