    Help with Report control Manipulation

I need big hand of help coz I'm stuck in a huge puddle of access mess I made. I need to view my query in a report, I know it's easy for access because it provides a custom made report and you need only to pick the query you desire. But lately the outcome isn't half of what I need. I have a template that I want to follow, its an activity template, I made it as an image, so I made it as a background on my report, I was happy because it was successful it fits on the right sides, but my problem begins to surface when I start adding my controls on the report, I set my query in a tabular setting in report so that I can drag and adjust the location of each control, it can be on the top left or right etc. now I noticed that the items listed on my table fields began to disappear when I tried to view it, confused with what I did, I tried to manipulate it using a code:

Private Sub Report_Open(Can cel As Integer)
    Me.txtActivityT ype.Top = 7.8333
    Me.txtActivityT ype.Left = 1.375

    End Sub

but I definitely noticed that the problem is bigger than what I know, How can I manipulate the controls on my report without affecting the listed items? please help me understand this, I'm an in-experienced report maker in access and I really want to retain my template because of printing purposes. pls help!!

    thanks in advance :)

Hi. I'm not sure that I understand the problem you are facing, but it sounds like your background image may not be behind all your controls so it is hiding some of them. If this is so, click on the image to select it and from the Format menu choose Send to Back.

Similarly, to ensure that controls are placed at the front (ahead of any image) select them individually or as a group and then select Format, Bring to Front from the menu.

Think of this as layering. To see your controls on top of any image the image must be stacked as the bottom layer (at the back in Access terms) with the controls on the top layer (at the front in Access terms). If you placed another image on top of the existing one then you can see that the order of the layers becomes very important - get the order wrong and one image will hide the other, and in turn controls will not be visible if they are not on top of any images.

Thank you for your reply and I apologize for the confusion. I hope I explain it clear now. I have a template saved as an image and set this as my background within my reports properties by clicking on pictures property. I have no problem with this part, so sending to back controls is not problem.

      I tried what you said
"Similarly, to ensure that controls are placed at the front (ahead of any image) select them individually or as a group and then select Format, Bring to Front from the menu.
      "

I'm using my image as a pattern to adjust their location, but when I started putting them on each location, Items listed on my fields began to disappear and big gaps between items began to show, this confuses me a lot, because I have a hard time adjusting them because if I try, gaps began to appear and when gaps appear, sometimes Items began to disappear.

Is there’s a way to align controls using vba?, What I want my report to do is when I view the report, it will automatically align my textbox to their designated location.
Is this a good idea? coz so far this is only a idea I can come up with.
