    Acess updating SQL tables

I have an Access front end which inserts/updates etc tables under SQL 2000.

Whenever I try to update a table using a form the system will not let me it just bleeps.

Other databases set up in a similar way do not seem to be affected.

    All permissions are set correctly.

Can you post how you have set up permissions on the SQL server side of things?
I have played with this before and the SQL permissions are very powerful, but can be very complicated to match.

User has been set up on SQL as a user with access to a number of databases.

Within specific database inquestion user confirmed with rights to do everything

On tables within the database, full permissions select, read, write delete

I'm guessing he's been set up as a 'Standard' user rather than as a 'Windows' user?
How does he link in such a way that his account is used and not someone else's?

Have you tried doing a simple update of the table (using any SQL Server items like Stored Procedures etc) via 'Query Analyser' (isqlw.exe)?
The SQL Server items are important as they each have their own permissions set and, if not set correctly, will not allow a user to utilise them.
Another alternative (less sure unless you really know what's what in the security area) is to try as a 'Full Admin' user. 'Full Admin' user is something that has all permissions basically. You may want to enable 'sa' and 'Standard Users' temporarily if currently disabled, just to do the test.

Yes can make changes via query analyzer. It is purely when going through access that the problem arises. Should say the user has access to similar SQL tables on another database and has no problems
