RTF Export: Want to display text, not invalid hyperlink message

I have an Access database of documents, with hyperlinks to PDFs. Sometimes I need to reference a document for which I don't yet have a PDF, so I type the name of the document into the hyperlink field in parentheses. This works great when I export to an Excel file, because the name I've given the missing document shows up and it is obvious that it is not an active link because of the parentheses.

But now I need to export to RTF, and instead of displaying my text in parentheses, I get "Error! Hyperlink reference not valid." Is there a way to make my RTF display the text of the invalid hyperlink instead?

    Hi,

Why don't you organize your Mail Merge from Excel in this case?

    :)

      Thank you for your help.

Is mail merging different than exporting? Sorry if that is a stupid question but I'm a paralegal, not an Access expert! :-)

I can't export to Excel because I have a memo field with very lengthy text, and Access outputs reports to Excel 5.0/95 format, which truncates text-cell contents at 255 characters.

          Hey man,

And what about to remove the non active hyperlinks... In meaning that they are in your database but for your query that is used to export the information to RTF the hyperlinks with brackets aren't visualized?

Is this a solution for U?

          Best regards!

No can do PEB. That is the crux of the problem; rather than display the text of the inactive hyperlinks, I get the message that the link is invalid. But I have to be able to see the text that I typed in.

What I'm think I'll have to do is create another, non-hyperlink, column where I can type the text again, and export that as well.
