    ACCESS Help with System DSN

 I could really use some help

A Access Database was created and put out in a shared drive--so that anyone could run these queries.

I copied the db and made some changes and created a new db by adding two new tables and creating a subquery to run with all the current queries.

My problem is that now no one can use the queries. The run fine on my machine..and a selected few other machines.

When viewing the link table manager I find that the old db looks like this

    example A link table R_b_A_detail ()

and mine now show the following

    example B link table R_b_A_detail(DS N=op01rtdb02;)

I have been told that example A are pass thru queries???? The db shows them as select queries.

How can I change the new tables I added to look like example A?

Thanks to anyone who can help....

Did you split the db or the users accessing through shortcuts?

What I did was link two new tables the ones with the (DSN XXXX), The other linked tables have just a () after them.

When I added the tables and rewrote the queries. They get an ODBC error message and are unable to run them. However, if you have set up in your control panel the odbc the data source dsnop01rtdb02 then you can run them. How do I change the two tables that I linked to be like the ones that were already in the odbc with just the () after them. All I can think of is it has to be the way I linked up the tables.

      thanks!

you might try to relink to the data and see if that helps. in the mean time I'll see what I can find out for you.

This one was tricky for me. I've never linked to tables the way you are doing it. I found a link that might help you, though...
