The application was converted then compiled. The only issue was changing the recordset dimensions to DAO.recordset from recordset as the application would not compile.
I will experiment with the main query to see if I can improve the speed.

Access 2007 performance
I tried converted an application that started life in Access 97 and is currently in Access 2003.
The performance in Access 2007 of the main tabbed form has degraded considerably moving from record to record.
It appears to be the data refresh on the form that is the issue and not retrieving the data.
The refresh of the data has a scrolling effect. In addition, the record selector will only move one...
