Locking users out of database at certain time
I have a database that holds all the tables for multiple other databases that the tables are linked to. I need to access the database everyday at a certain time and can't seem to get the users to adhere to the time. Well, I would love to know who is in the database and I would love to be able to kick everyone out at a certain time. Kind of two request balled up in there. Can you please help? By the way, there is no user level security. -

After the user enters an amount in the EMP_AMT_DED textbox, if it is not equal to 1250.00 I want a message box that says "amount not equal to 1250.00 explain why" then i want to setfocus in the EMP_HISTORY memo box and disable or lock all fields until the user types something in the box. -
Calculated Field On A Query
I can't get my query to return results when i set the criteria <="$5000.00" in the calculated field column. There are definitely records in the table that match the criteria ... Please help. -
Ok, another problem, when the amount is entered and it is less than 1250.00 I want the field to keep whatever value is entered I just want an explain in the memo box. The way it is set up now, it won't allow the field to keep the entry.... -

I am not clear on how to do that. In the validation rule box, the expression builder opens. Can you give me specific steps on how to perform what you suggest I do....Leave a comment:

Message Box Prompt
I have a field named EMP_AMT_DED and I need for the amount entered into the text box to be 1250.00 and if the amount is anything less, I need a message box that prompts the user to explain why in the deduction history memo box. Once the user clicks OK on the prompt, I need to setfocus to the memo box. Simple but I can't think of it right off.
Thanks for any help... -
I tried that too and it won't update, should I remove the expression from the query and just use the field name from the table and write the extra code that says:
Private Sub EMP_TERM_DATE_A fterUpdate()
If Me!EMP_TERM_DAT E <> "" Then
Me![Days_Employed] = DateDiff("D",[EMP_HIREDATE], [EMP_TERM_DATE])
else
Me![Days_Employed]=DateDiff("D",[EMP_HIREDATE], Now())...Leave a comment:

I just calculated in query design view like this:
Days Employed: DateDiff("d",tb l_NEW_DED_HIRE! EMP_HIREDATE,No w())
so it's an expression in the query....Leave a comment:

Use the dateadd(). In your query design view, click in the box where the field you want to calculate is and type
=DateAdd("m",+3 9, [the field name for the date entered])
once you click out of the box you will see
Expr1:=DateAdd( "m",+39, [the field name for the date entered])
Just change the word "Expr1:" to whatever you want the column name to be and there you go. Be sure there is a colon...Leave a comment:

field based on an expression (calculated field) and can not be changed error
I have a calculated field in a query, it calculates the # of days an employee has been employed using the following statement =datediff("d", [HIREDATE], NOW()) by default. When an employee is terminated, I need that same field to be updated with the number of days employed. Simple huh, so simple I can't even think of it. In the TERMDATE lostfocus event I put the following code:
...Code:Private Sub EMP_TERM_DATE_LostFocus()
No activity results to display
