Thank you everyone for your help! I have been working on a large project and did not get back this problem until this weekend. However, I did a reinstall of MS Office 2003 which obviously did not work. But, I just changed the setting in my Norton Anti Virus and now it works. I knew it had to be a setting somewhere but I did not know what. This forum is great! Now I can complete this project. -
The steps that you list are exactly the steps that I do but nothing happens. There is window that pops up to go any further. If I choose to connect to another mdb then I get the next screen but if I choose ODBC databases, I get nothing. There has to be some setting somewhere preventing the ODBC connection. I am using MS Office 2003 Pro on an XP Pro sp2 laptop. I installed the complete setup when I installed office so that I would get all functionality. Yhe steps are: right click on tables in access,click on link tables, choose ODBC databases as type of data source and absolutely nothing happens. There is no error. When I go to link tables and choose ODBC databases for the type nothing happens. There is no error and no window to select the data source. It I choose another type such as mdb It will continue to the next screen to choose the mdb file but nothing at all happens when I choose ODBC databases....Leave a comment:

Link tables to ODBC databases
I tried posting this but got an error the first time.
I have set up SQL server on an XP Pro laptop and transferred 2 databases from another laptop which was sucessfull. I also transferred an access database on this laptop which was successful. Now I need to set up the linked tables in the access database but when I try to link the tables and choose ODBC databases as the source the "Select Data Source" screen will not...
