stand alone .exe output from vb 2005
Is there a way to create a stand alone .exe from VB2005, that does not depend upon the .NET framework being installed on the target machine?
I have followed previous threads on this subject and not seen a definitive answer.
What I want to do is create an .exe that has all of the .dll etc required to run on both XP and 98 operating systems, and does not require that the .NET framework be downloaded to the machine. ... -

Device ID in SerialPort
I am trying to find the Device Id of a Serial Port, specifying the com port such as Com3. It should return the device parameters, including the serial number of the port. I have tried all searches within Visual Studio, but do not find how to do this.
Any ideas?
