C# forms app - Crystal Reports question
Hello all...
I have a C# forms application that I am developing using MS Visual Studio 2005. I am trying to add some Crystal Reports to this application using the built in Crystal Reports tools with Visual Studio.
It seems like it should be pretty straight forward, but no matter what I do I can't get my reports to actually show data. Here's the info:
I created a crystal report viewer on a form. I created... -
Finding SQL Server Event IDs
Hello all,
I am trying to find out if it is possible to get a list of all of the event IDs that MS SQL server can generate. Does anyone know if a compiled list exists anywhere?
Also, can this be extracted from the SQL server itself through a query?
For example: What would the event ID be if someone performs a select query? Would that even be tracked anywhere... whether within the SQL server software itself,... -
Thanks... I will look at it and see if I can find anything out of place. I didn't add any new classes... but I will go through the code to see if I can find anything.
Thanks again!...Leave a comment:

I've closed Dev Studio several times... even rebooted my machine.
I haven't deleted any databidingsourc es... and even when I try to change a control that has a valid bindingsource it gives me that error. I will look at the designer code and see if I can find anything.
If you have any other ideas, I would really appreciate it. This is about 3 months of work on a new applicaiton that will be replacing outdated MS Access...Leave a comment:

That is correct. The app compiles, publishes and runs just fine. Everything was fine until about 3 days ago, when this problem started out of nowhere....Leave a comment:

narpet started a topic "object reference not set to an instance of an object" error message - C# appin .NET"object reference not set to an instance of an object" error message - C# app
Hello all,
I'm hoping somebody can help me with this.
I have an app that I've been developing in MS Visual Studio 2005 Pro, C#. I have connectivity to a SQL server database. All of the sudden, whenever I try to add a new or change an existing data binding to a text box (as an example), it gives me the error, "object reference not set to an instance of an object".
To clarify... this error occurs... -
There's really no code to show at this point...
The entire form was created using MS Visual Dev Studio... so it generated all the code for me.
I'm using a defined dataset, and for the datagrid view I'm using a defined table adapter. So it is all auto created.
I hope this info helps...
we can just call the datagrid... datagridview1
call the dataset... dataset1
call the table...Leave a comment:

C# data commit question
Hello all...
I know this is probably very easy and I'm just missing it... but I've been trying to learn C# on my own at work and this problem has me stumped.
I am able to connect to my SQL database and view data with no problem.
As an example I created a datagrid view on a form that shows some data from a table.
What I want to do is allow the user to change data and have that data change... -

Question about running external query in C#
Hello all...
I have a SQL server 2005 database that my C# app will be talking to. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to run a query that you wrote and saved as a .sql file in SQL Server Management Studio, from within C#.
In other words I would like to not have to write the query in C#, but would prefer to call it from the file I created.
I would try to figure this out on my own... but I have no idea... -
