My difficulty is that I have 2 tables say tbl1 and tbl2. My form is designed to update records in tbl1 .There is a combo box on my form which is linked to a list of names from a field in tbl2.
I want to have an error msg if I type any name which is not in the name field on table 2.
sorry if I was not detailed enough. This is my first ever project in access.

Validation code not to to accept entries not found in combo list
I am designing a project in access. I have designed an input form with a combo box that is bound to a field list from another table.
I don't want the textbox to accept any item which is not in the bound field on validation.
Can any one help with a soluttion
