  • I think the issue may be related to the tag :
    Code:
    <script language=JScript>
    I borrowed the JScript from a website and I think this code is setup for web scripting. I simply need to run a .vbs file locally. Please advise. Thank you in advance for any help.

  • Thank you for the reply. I do think it could be the missing characters issue but unfortunately this is my first time even using JScript never mind calling it in a .vbs file. I've tried to find something that would explain the proper steps to do this from a .vbs file but so far I have not been able to find anything. Thx

  • Error when calling a JScript function in a .vbs file

    G'day...not sure if this is the proper place to post this question as it is vbscript, but I figured I'd give it a shot...I have searched the depths of the oceans for an answer to this problem but I am finally giving in to asking for help via the best community of programmers out there :P

    In attempting to execute the following line of code:

    Code:
     <script language=JScript>
        	function SortVBArray(arrInput) {
    ...

  • Thanks for the reply I eventually realized that rs.sort would carry out what I was attempting to achieve....but I think this will be useful to others who are attempting to do what I was trying to do. Thanks!

  • Updating an open recordset in Access + Separate Array Question

    I am opening the following connections as such although I am only referring to the first connection for this question:

    Code:
    Dim con1 As ADODB.Connection
    Dim con2 As ADODB.Connection
    Dim recSet1 As ADODB.Recordset
    Dim recSet2 As ADODB.Recordset
    Set con1 = CurrentProject.Connection
    Set con2 = CurrentProject.Connection
    Set recSet1 = New ADODB.Recordset
    Set recSet2 = New ADODB.Recordset
    ...

    Hey Neo,

    thanks for the info...as always! I remember when I was just starting out in programming and you had less than 1000 posts because some error had reset everything but you're already at 7,000+ so yeah I'm glad to help out

    anyways...I appreciate your advice about using primary keys but I tend to avoid using primary keys where possible as I use a lot of vb scripting that I will be able to remove from access sometime...

    Alright well I appreciate your help! Unfortunately, for this project, I have to be careful about what I post. Anyways...I have already found a solution to the original way I intended to handle this. As you may have seen from some of my earlier posts...I do like to post a lot of code so that I can give back to the community.

    Here was my original problem which I tried to work around as I had thought that Access did not support it:...

    Yes. I'm trying to find duplicate records and the number of times they occur...gotta go to a meeting but will be back. I guess I could just output to another table I'm trying to make this a bit more of a simplified process. Thx

    Quick DoCmd.OpenQuery Question

    I should probably know this, but I have a query that I'm opening with VBA:
    Code:
    DoCmd.OpenQuery "SortTableClientCN_ASC", acViewNormal, acEdit
    the query is the following:
    Code:
    SELECT tblClientCN.ClientCN
    FROM tblClientCN
    ORDER BY tblClientCN.ClientCN;
    I simply need to order this column in ascending or descending order (doesn't matter) - however I want to edit the actual table with the ordered results and...

  • Alright never mind...I figured it out...and this is really important

    IF YOU ARE LIKE ME AND LEARNED ACCESS THROUGH FORUMS...YOU MAY NOT KNOW THIS SO YOU MAY WANT TO READ THIS

    You have to import the data into the table before you open up the connection because of how things are called into memory.

    In the above code...by opening up RecSet1 before I imported the data, it saw a blank table

  • Error: "Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted."

    Hey ya'll...I can't seem to figure out why I'm getting this error message, but it all started when I added the new line of code with the recSet5.AddNew --- when I ran the first line, the logic worked and the fields were populated properly, when I added all the rest, it wouldn't run and even when I tried to go back, it still won't run now...I am getting the following error message:

    "Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record...

  • Well the dates in the excel sheet are in a general field and the program that exports this list doesn't export them with delimiters so it would be a value like 10061982 and although I import this field directly into a date field in Access, it gives me an error that it can not be added....

  • Importing Dates in MMDDYYYY format from Excel into Access Tables

    Howdy...haven't used Access for a while, but now I'm getting back into it and can't seem to figure out how I can import data from an excel table that outputs the date in the formate of MMDDYYYY. I figure there's gotta be some easy way to do this rather than reading through the string with a mid function or something along those lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!
