without looking at it in detail, it looks to me that you are deleting first, then asking the question about do you want to delete? and then you are trying to do update on recordset that has just been deleted ....
have you tried answering no to your question and see if record is NOT deleted?
remove the rs.update and see if error goes away

I'm new to C# and still plenty baffles me - be gentle :).

I am trying to write a program to will monitor files in a specific folder and issue alerts as soon as a new file has been added/modified/deleted. Ultimately, the program would run as a service or something, showing in the taskbar icon tray. With small popup notifications when changes happen ... soooo not there yet :/

Back to the basics ... although...
