Having issues searching the record when the field is in number
I am new to MS Access. I have created a database. One of the field have Item number which has more than 20 digits. First i had the field with Text. I have problem as the Item number is duplicating. because the clients scan the number in two different ways. Either using the box or the label on item. if they scan through the box, there will be no leading zero. But if the same item scanned through the label there is leading o. For instance if they... -
Thanks for the reply. I did this already and it is working. I do have another problem. Now I couldnt search the record. I enter or scan the item number using Control F to find. But it is not searching.. I tried with more than 20 numbers. No searching at all.. Can you please help me with this issue. Thanks. -
Thanks for your reply. I did the same to the database. I have almost 6500 records now. I got another problem after I changed the tables to number. Now I couldn't find the records. Thanks for your reply. The reason I have Item number is Text format is they are always more than 15 digits. so If I have in number, they are not accepting it. Do you have any other options please. ThanksLeave a comment:

how to set the field with no zero in the beginning
I have question about how to save record in table without 0 in the beginnng. I have created databse in which Item number is a field. Item number have more than 15 numbers. I used text instead of numbers. When i scan item number some start with 0 in the beginning and some dont. there are chances to scan same numbers again. when I scan it is dupliating. when i scan first with 0 in the beginning and no 0 next time. for instance, item number is 456789.... -

Question about entering numbers without 0 in the beginning

How to connect two Combo boxes?
I have question about how to connect two combo box. One combo box have Product Code and the Combo box have Carrier name related to each product Code. If I select Product Code "A", then "Carrier" combo box should give the list only related to Product Code "A". Same way if I select Product Code "B", the Carrier Combo Box should give list only related to Product Code "B".
