hi all,
i got high specs. server with 32G ram, but sometimes when i try to open my website it doesn't load, and keep like this until i make apache restart.
the server have WHM/CPANEL installed.
i just want to know how to investigate the issue ?
where can i find the logs related ?
what is the common reason for this issue ?

consider the following
AD FQDN : master.dc.alone , domain is : dc.alone
1st configure linux box to use AD as NTP server (must)
2nd use system-config-authentication cmd and configure it exactly as following image (case sensitive)

3rd click join domain and provide domain admin credential.
then you are done :)

actually i meant MS active directory , not openldap..
also i have tested MS AD password policy, and i was shocked it's working on linux boxes !

i gotta RHEL 5 Enterprise with samba 3.6 installed..
actually sharing is working from linux terminal and windows 7 GUI..
the problem is when i try to browse windows 7 shares from linux network browser it asks me for authentication i entered my user/password and never let me in..
i did reboot server, restart service disable windows 7 firewall, disable selinux , xinetd..
... -
i did actually fix the issue..
the problem was blockage to port 21, i did fix the issue by doing :
nano /etc/sysconfig/iptables
then add the line :
-A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 21 -j ACCEPT
ten restarting the service using :
/etc/init.d/iptables restart

ftp from windows 7 to linux ftp server

i gotta a small issue "i hope =)"
i've installed ftp server (vsftpd) on redhat enterprise edition ..
i tested the ftp server locally from this linux machine, it worked gr8...
i tried to connect via local windows 7 machine with ftp client called leap ftp, but it doesn't work !! just 10 secs. loading then outputs "connection field" , i switched off windows 7 fire wall, but... -

upgrading to 3.04 will make support of NTFS, and my nic..
if i have kernel dun wanna support my nic, even after downloading new module.. dun wanna support ntfs.. dun wanna be upgraded too !!
sure i dun need this kernel.. it's too old
am on my way to redhat certified technical, so i need redhat no other linux..

actually am trying to upgrade cuz my NIC not detected.. I've downloaded the module but didn't work too,
i tried to install NTFS file system it refuses..
soo many probs. so i decided to update the kernel..
i wanna add that Xconfig didn't work.. only way to config kernel is using menucomfig..

i did download the tar file, extracted successfully
i did use menuconfig gr8 too..

i have 2 php files, 1st is iframe loading, the second contain javascript ajax..
javascript function on 2nd file called and executed while iframe php page is still loading...

it's iframe page that uploads an image.. and the javascript function will load latest images...
