From what I'm seing building a custom report based on a query is what you are looking for.
Create a query with all the needed fields as options (any fields that you need that aren't yes/no need to be in here as well)
Set the criteria in each Yes/No field as Yes (type it in). I would recommend not showing the Yes/No field unless you want a ton of "Yes" entries on your report.
Build a report based on the query...

Well you can disreguard this post. I am no longer employed by the company, and thus, no longer working on this database.Leave a comment:

Quick question... Will this string require a SQL server or SQL services to be running? If so, neither of them are running on this system.
When I try to execute this code it gives me the following error:
Run-time error '3134':
Syntax error in INSERT INTO statement.
When I run the debugger it highlights the DoCmd.RunSQL SQL Line (I'm assuming this is because this is the actual command that...Leave a comment:

Sorry... Every time I open the form (Event Procedure) I get the error. Above is the adapted (at least what I derived and adapted) code.
As I have mentioned before, I'm not very good with VB, but there is no one else here familiar with Access to build this DB.Leave a comment:

Every time I edit it with the specific information it comes back with an "Expected" error.
Here are the table Names:
Employee Submissions
Hours Archive
These are the fields (they are the same for both tables):
empName
Direct Hours
Indirect Hours
Other Hours
entDate
Other Details
Presence
this is the gist of the code I derived:...Leave a comment:

How to transfer data from one table to another based on date
Greetings (again)...
This should be a simple matter but I cannot seem to find any information on how to do/build this.
Inside a single DB I have two tables... One is titled Employee Submissions and the other is Hours Archive.
What I need is a way to transfer records from the Employee Submissions table to the Hours Archive table based on the date associated with the field. Specifically I need any record... -
Absolutely beautiful. The perfect... I knew I was missing something... Thank you!Leave a comment:

Try something like this:
...Code:Option Compare Database Private Sub Field1_AfterUpdate() SetFilter End Sub Private Sub Field2_AfterUpdate() SetFilter End Sub Private Sub Field3_AfterUpdate() SetFilter End Sub Private Sub SetFilter() Dim FilterCriteria As String If Field1 & "" <> ""Leave a comment:

Text field propegation (Access 2007)
OK I have a problem. I'm fairly sure this has been answered somewhere, but ai can't seem to find it.
I have a single table with 3 fields:
Table1:
empFirstName
empLastName
empFullName
In a separate Access "DB" I have a form that allows me to create, edit and delete entries on this table. The form has these three text fields:
Form1:
frmFirstName

Let me see if I have this straight. You are trying to create a record look up based off the information typed into a series of text boxes. You also want to be able to edit the information on the record that you look up. Correct?Leave a comment:

It looks like it might help... I'll have to tweak it and see what happens... Wish me luck.Leave a comment:

This wasn't so much a coding issue as it was an unfamiliarity with Access primary keys (I've never had to use more than one field as a key before, so I learned something new).Leave a comment:

Actually what Mariostg recommended worked perfectly. I know that Date is a reserved word, as is Full Name (another table) and a few other of the fields I'm using across 18+ tables. It actually works quite well as a few of the functions I'm using to propegate data have these reserves in place and save me a lot of headaches. Only once have I run across and issue with the reserve interfereing and it was a relatively easy work-around to fix it.Leave a comment:

I think what he is trying to say is that you need to verify that each source field is unbound... I may be wrong though...Leave a comment:

Cascading(?) Combo-box Filters, Selection reduction problem.
I have a record lookup form that has several combo box filters set up. However I noticed a slight problem. The filters are working correctly, but there are now over 2000 entries and when filtering there are too many possible selection even with other filters applied.
Example 1:
POC Doe, John wants to look up a record he created on 01/01/2010. He selects his name and after updating he accidentally selects 01/02/2010 (despite... -
Correction... I was including the ID in the PK as well which was throwing things out of whack. Fixed it though. Thank you!Leave a comment:

Unfortunately you suggestion did not work... I have to allow for duplicate name and date entries (40 employees over several days) with unique identifiers. I tried multiple combonations of allowing/disallowing duplicates and it still allows me to create multiple entries on the same date with the same name, or doesn't allow me to make multiple entries with either same name/different date, or different names/same date.Leave a comment:

Here is an example of a filtering system I used:
