IT works!! Thank you so much for your help! -
Thanks for the response!
I put the code in, but it does not do anything. I think it might be because the patient number field is a text field. This is because it has dashes is it. Will this affect the results?Leave a comment:

How to have field autosearch for duplicate entry?
I have a form setup to keep track of patients and a subform setup for their separate visits. I need to find a way so when a user inputs the number of a person who is already in the database in the main form, a message will come up to let the user know before they start entering visit data in the subform. Any ideas? -
The solution above does work, but I have noticed if I leave the first combo box blank on a new record then the second combo box displays the options with the selections from the last time combo box 1 was used. Shouldn't the rowsource be blank if no selection is made? (line 3 in the code below)
With Me![UnitFloor]
If IsNull(Me!Facil ity) Then
.RowSource = " "
Else
.RowSource...Leave a comment:

It works!!! Thanks for checking that for me! I couldn't tell that the single quote did not have a space after it in your earlier example... As for the spelling error, I think I did that just before I sent you the example. One last try to copy/past the values and I missed highlighting the L.
Anyway, thanks again for your help!!!Leave a comment:

Spelling is correct. (I've checked that 3 times now and I even copy/pasted them from the table to the form to be sure.)Leave a comment:

That took care of the popup window, but I do not have any options to select from in the second combo box now.Leave a comment:

Well, it almost works...
I make a selection in the first combo box, but when I clink on the drop down for the second box, a window pops up and I have to manually type the option I want from the first box. After that, I do see the correct options for the second box.
Here is the code I used:
...Code:Private Sub Facility_AfterUpdate() With Me![UnitFloor] If IsNull(Me!Facility) ThenLeave a comment:

Help with combo box determining selections of second combo box
Hello all,
I have a subform within a form and I have two combo boxes. the first combo is Facility and the second is Unit. I want the selections for Unit to be determined by the selection in Facility. I have it setup with the folowing Row Source info:
SELECT [tblUnitFloor].Unit FROM tblUnitFloor WHERE ((([tblUnitFloor].Facility)=Form s!frmMainForm!s frMainSub!Facil ity));
tblUnitFloor is a table with all... -
I've changed my database araound a bit now to make this a little easier for me. I now have the fields in a table and I think DLookup is the way to go. (I could be wrong here... ) Anyway, I am trying to use the following statement bur I get "#Error" as a result:
=DlookUp("[Provider#]","tblProviderI nfo","[Provider]=forms!frmMainF orm![Provider]")
Any thoughts?Leave a comment:

The form pulls it's data from a single query, so I don't have the multiple sources. My biggest problem has been getting the data into the form. What is the easiest/best way to do this?Leave a comment:

Fields auto filling based on dropdown selection
I am trying to create a form where the user will select a name from a dropdown, and then other fields will populate based on the name selected. Ex: User selects "Smith, John" and then Cust#, Site and Specialty will then populate with John Smith's info. I have the initial dropdown pulling from a query which formats the name field the way I want it. (The source table has the first and last names separated.) The query also has these other... -
NeoPA, I see what you were talking about now. The date field is populating on the form, but it not in the table. How do get the date into the table as well?...Leave a comment:

Nested IIF Statement not working
I have a database where I have two date fields, Procedure Due Date and Procedure Performed Date. I want to update a checkbox called Procedure over 30 days based on two considerations:
1 - Whenever the Perfomed Date is greated than the Due Date.
2 - Whenever the Due Date has gone by without a Performed date.
I have IIF statements where one situation works, but then wipes out everything that may have been... -
Sorry it took so long to get back, I was given a "drop everything and do this" project. Those are SO much fun!!!
Ok, I found a way to get around the check bos issue, but I still have my original problem, the drop down on the report. Below is the SQL for a dumbed down version of my query (I removed all the non pertinent fields).
...Code:SELECT [Main Table].[Last Name], [Main Table].[First Name], [Main Table].[Reason if Procedure
