  • How do I create a Data Dictionary using Oracle Designer

    Hi,
I'm fairly new to Oracle (I'm using the 10g DB and Developer Suite)

I have an assignment that requests the following:-

    DATA DICTIONARY
"Use Oracle Designer to produce a list of attributes for each entity."

I was able to produce the ERD, DFD and PD, however, I do not quite know how to begin to produce the Data Dictionary.

Any help in this area would be appreciated,...

    Hi,
I have an Access database 2003 for product, orders and customer information.
I've joined them to determine the most sold product.

The results of my query looks like this:-
    ProductID NumberOrdered
    3001........... . 2
    7958........... . ...

MS Access database online via website

    Hi,
I'm trying to help another student in our class to host an Access Database on line for a school project.

    1) I tried so with ODBC- DSN (setting this up)

    2) Read tutorials and guides on IIS (Inetpup...wwwr oot)

    3) Also on Data Access pages, Dreamweaver, Asp/Asp.net (all of which I'm new too)

    4) Other methods.

    5) From case studies, research and other related articles...

    Thanks AJ for your reply.
I am able to create the shortcut from the AutoExec that would automatically start the Database. However, I cannot change the icon to what I want.
That's what I'm trying to say, hope it's now clearer. :-)
    Thanks!

    Changing the MS Access Icon

    Hi!
I want to create a command from my Desktop that would automatically open my Database from that button or Icon.

I've tried going to the Properties of the AutoExecute Form (SwitchBoard) to create a shortcut, however, I'm unable to change the icon from the Macro Sign.

I've also tried my desktop by right-clicking and choosing Shortcut and Changing the Icon and assigning the location. However this Option still...

    Hi ChipR.
I tried it, however, it does not seem to be functional on my end.
If my datatype for CategoryName and AuthorName is "text" does that make a difference? (just a wild guess)
    Thanks again!

Thanks ever so much ChipR, I'm going to look into it.
What I did in the interim was to present a message box on the form's load that would advise the user that a blank form would mean--- no records.
This I thought was unprofessional and not nice design but I did need something to advise the user and not have him/her be at a lost.

Again I thank you ever so much for your responses.
    Appreciative!

    Error Message for Query/Form.

    Hi :-)

I've designed a query that gathers its information for two tables:-

    1)Author and
    2) Category

My selection criteria for this query is Author.AuthorNa me [Enter Author Name] and
    Category.Catego ryName [Enter Category].

This query works well. However, if I do the following:

"Joe Public" as the Author and
    "Faith" as the Category...

    Hi!

In my database assignment I have a query called "Balance" which is derived from two queries and the main table:-

    1) TotalSales
    2) TotalReceipts
    3) StockDetails (table)

Total Sales represents the SumofAmtSold and
    TotalReceipts represents the SumofAmtRcd
    StockDetails the OriginalStock is taken

    Balance therefore is:-
    ( SumofAmtRcd + OriginalStock)...
