    I want to know if there is any impact on performance if I use cygwin.

    I am planning to use cygwin libraries for porting from Linux to Windows. I guess Cygwin support pthreads on windows.

    Has anyone tried this? Is there any performance tradeoff if I do this?

        Porting from Linux to windows

        Hi,

        Currently I am trying to port my application from Linux to windows.
        I need some inputs on the following:

        1. how easily the sockets can be ported from Linux to Windows
        2. whether I have any windows equivalent for gcov, valgrind, xterm etc
        3. how easily the shell scripts can be ported to Windows

        Please help.
