      A very very basic query

      Hi,

      I need to get started in learning .net. The thing is I am required to learn asp.net, C# (.net2.0).

      I can't seem to figure out how the terms (asp, .net, C#) are related to each other. I need to work on some web development project so I am required to learn the above stated tech. So what I would like to know is a very brief intro to the techs I mentioned.

              Is mysql right for me?

              Hi,

              I have recently started learning SQL on my own. After doing a little research I found that MySql would probably suit my needs. I just want to execute some queries to learn the syntax of the language, nothing related to development at all for now.

              Could someone guide me as to what variation of SQL I should use or whether MySql is fine. I would prefer if it does not hog unnecessary system resources as I already mentioned,...

                    Hi,

                    I wanted to get an opinion on how long is it safe to keep a desktop running at a stretch considering the only activity being done is downloading torrent data. Not the software aspect of it but in terms of longevity of hardware. My setup is well ventilated.
