Hi,
I have statically linked libodbc++ library (libodbc++-mt.a) with my C++ application to store/retrieve data from MySQL.
Previously, when I was using libodbc++-0.2.3, database inserts (using preparestatemen t) works well even for strings with morethan 255 characters.
I upgraded to libodbc++-0.2.4pre4 and when I do inserts with morethan 255 characters, the string is truncated to 255 characters and then...

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Actually, I identified the cause for the problem.
It seems that the problem is in our network where some external forces abort the connection while the blob is actively downloading (identified by using some network analyzer). I have tested my application many times in other networks (like AWS EC2 instance) and the issue haven't reproduced.

C++ with libcurl issue
Hi,
I have linked libcurl library (v7.19.6) statically with my C++ application. Using curl, we upload & download files to/from the window azure storage webservice using https. The download works for smaller files with few KBs. But for files with size greater than 50 MB, the download fails with the error CURLE_PARTIAL_F ILE. This issue occurs randomly ie., some times the file was downloaded successfully without issue and some times,... -
I am sure that my process is not hanging, since if the thread1 is alone running, then there is no issues (no memory problems or resource issues) and I am getting the results set.
Only if the thread2 (for a small simple query) connects at that time, thread2 hangs. Thread2 succeed after thread1 completes its query.Leave a comment:

Problem with libodbc++
Hi,
I am statically linking libodbc++.a (and also unixODBC libodbc.a) to my multi-threaded CPP application to access MySQL database. The following versions are used :
libodbc++ = v0.2.3
unixODBC = v2.2.11
MySQL connector = v3.51.21r807
All these 3 packages are configured with '--enable-threads' option during ./configure.
In my CPP application, when one thread queries bulk records... -
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I knew about the LOWER() functionality. Since there may some performance issue, I was looking for other options.
I have figured out another method to achieve this ie., cast() option.
select * from SAMPLE where cast(NAME as char) like 'John'
This results JOHN and john. Is this recommended?

String search in MySQL query
Hi,
I am trying to port my application from SQLite to MySQL database. I believe MySQL by default searches string in case insensitive manner while using '=' and 'like' operators in SELECT statement. I have changed the default collation of the MySQL server to ''latin1_genera l_cs" from "latin1_swedish _ci".
After doing this, the string search is case sensitive for both '=' and 'like' operators. But I would...
