Thanks for the replies. I didn't think about database triggers, but since I need to run some asp (vb.net) code as a result of the database record add. It probably won't help this time.
With respect to the WMICreator I will take a look and see if it can be used and/or combined with vb.net code. If it can then this may be the answer I was looking for.

Service to detect / respond to a SQL Record Add
Is there a way using .NET to create a service or web service that can monitor / trigger an event to run asp.net code on a web server when the addition of a record in a SQL table is detected? I am aware of the FileSystemWatch er tool available for creating a windows service for monitoring file adds, etc, but so far cannot find anything for monitoring database record adds. Thanks in advance.
