I have a Dell Latitude 800 and it is about 2 years old. The left side of the screen is dim but not to the point that I can't see my work. It is almost like a shadow and it does NOT have a clear line of demarcation but instead appears to have a gradual darkening between the brighter Right side and the darker left side. Any idea what this might be?

I really need to be able to use this computer for the next 6 months to finish a doctoral...
