While we are on the subject ... When in DB2 V9 a database is explicitly activated, two connections show up by default. One is STMM and the other I do not remember what. Do you know how to turn off both. You already mentioned that you turned off STMM. How did you do that? ThxLeave a comment:

When you hear the sound, look in the upper right corner of the screen - you will probably see an ISPF error message. Take care of the message and the sound will go away.Leave a comment:

Call IBM - I recall they have a way to bypass crash recovery on startup. You send them one of the control files, they change it and send back to you. In the future you may want to consider using "mirror" logs.Leave a comment:

"A wrapper is a mechanism by which a federated server can interact with certain types of data sources." - it simply points to the location where interface modules to the other data source are stored.Leave a comment:

Research on the net is nice, but reliable information is in DB2 documentation (http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview...d=swg27009552). There is no concept of "exporting a database" in DB2. You can export one table at a time (see command EXPORT) and IMPORT or LOAD into another database. You can also do a BACKUP for the entire database and RESTORE (perhaps REDIRECTed). You can also set up federated nicknames and LOAD directly...Leave a comment:
