Based on EVERYTHING that I have heard, it would be better to have the front end reside on the individual workstations with linked tables to the backend on the server. There are numerous posts and articles on the web about this... ill try to go find one quick...

Dunno. I guess I suggest that you base your loop query to select from a query that has already filtered out any records where d = 0.
So more like:
SELECT * FROM (SELECT * FROM table WHERE d <> 0) AS Temp WHERE
or something of that nature.
Good luck to you....Leave a comment:

Indeed. Another trick you can do is to add a null string to whatever value you are testing like so...
If Len(strStringFi eld & "") > 0 Then
OR
If Not Len(strStringFi eld & vbNullString) > 0
...et cetera. One of the Access MVPs (don't remenber which one o_O) told me that doing this makes the Null/Empty String check work in basically every situation.Leave a comment:

Kinda fuzzy on some details there. If 'd' is a field from a query, then you could just filter those that =0 with a WHERE clause.
'I'm running a bunch of queries' or whatnot is hard to decipher. Are you running these queries from code or how is this all working? It is probably possible to do some sort of If...Then...Els e or Select Case statement in the code to skip invalid records if using a WHERE clause is not viable.Leave a comment:

That is a very good rundown on error handling. Thanks for that....Leave a comment:

Try something more like:
Code:Me.Filter = "[fllupdate] Between #" & Me.Start & "# And #" & Me.End & "#"
Good luck with your problem,

You will want to create a query and use aggregate functions. If you create a query on your table(s) in the graphical query designer, right click in the bottom part and select 'Totals'. Another row of choices will appear. This one's pretty simple, so I would just fool around with the 'Group By' and 'Count' choices. It will be good practice since you are just starting out.

By splitting up the data into different tables, you would cut down on any redundant data. So instead of having "John Smith" copied down a hundred times in your tables, you would just have it once, in a "Personal Information" table, then you would use the PK from that table to refer to John Smith.
An example with the extremely simple data you have put forth:
[PHP]
tblPersonal_Inf o
ID_Personal_Inf o(AutoNumber)...Leave a comment:

I would definitely try this on a backup of the table. You may need to do some fiddling.
...Code:Public Function FixTable() Dim db As DAO.Database Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Dim strName As String Dim strTel As String 'or possibly Long Set db = CurrentDb Set rs = db.OpenRecordset("YourTableName") With rs If Not .BOF And Not .EOF Then .MoveFirst DoLeave a comment:

I would use a Select Case statement with the argument as the tab control's current value.
hth,Code:Select Case Me.TabControlNameHere.Value Case 0 Do stuff for first tab. Case 1 Do stuff for second tab. 'However many you need... End Select

This is a shot in the dark, but it may help. From my understanding the OutputTo command exports the form's recordsource (a query) in its entirety to an Excel sheet. Once you create the initial .xls, to append to it you could add it as a linked table and create an append query identical to the form's recordsource and run it when needed. If you only wanted to append new records, you might have to add a "New?" flag somewhere along the line...Leave a comment:

I think you should have two other separate tables: name/tel and other personal info in one, and another table for activity type.
To add a Primary Key (or "row number") the easiest way would be to insert an Autonumber field at the beginning of the table and assign it as the PK.
After that it would be pretty easy to loop through the table and fill in or delete what is needed. If you didn't change the table at...Leave a comment:

What is the code on your reset form command button and the names of your combo boxes?
How could the reset form command button be "effective in function" but still not do what you want it to. Just wondering....Leave a comment:

I just removed the now redundant DoCmd.GoToRecor d , , acNewRec from the command button code and put it in the Transactions subform on load event. Works for me. Sorry I didn't realize you already had a function in place to check for forms being open.
...Code:Private Sub Form_Load() If IsLoaded("Accounts") Then If Len(Forms.Accounts.AccountNameBox) <> 0 Then Me.Filter = "Lookup_VendorID.VendorID="Leave a comment:

AccountNameBox and VendorID are the two combos.
btw you are definitely going to want to add a check to see if the account form is open because I see you can access your transactions form from your switchboard. Here is one that I have used that was present in an existing database I work with. It is not pretty, but it works.
...Code:Function IsLoaded(MyFormName) ' Returns True if specified the form is loaded; '

This will work for the filtering as the forms stand now. I would put it in the Form_Load event of the subform. You may also want to add some code to check if the Accounts form is open, especially if it will be opened from anywhere besides the Accounts form.
...Code:If Len(Forms.Accounts.AccountNameBox) <> 0 Then Me.FilterOn = True Me.Filter = "Lookup_VendorID.AccountName='" & Forms.Accounts.AccountNameBox

I just wanted to update this for others searching with the same problem.
This problem only affected some of my security usergroups, and actual table and query permissions seemed to have no bearing on this error happening (my Read Only usergroup worked fine, but some groups with all but admin privileges were affected). Since this temporary table is not accessible from the security/permissions GUI, I was unable to fix the problem there....Leave a comment:

I think you could get this to work by converting any values that may be null to 0 like
Nz([StdFri], 0)+Nz([StdSat], 0)+Nz([StdSun], 0) etc.
so if any of the values happen to be null they will be converted to 0, otherwise they will be left alone.

Recordset .EOF returning true when there are multiple records
Access 2002
Hi. I have a command button that will "approve" all records currently being looked at by an "approver". For some reason, even though there are multiple records that exist in the recordsetclone, EOF is returning true. I think this may have something to do with the sort order of the underlying query, but I'm not sure; at any rate, I don't want to change the sort order. I thought you had to check for BOF and EOF,...
