I have a longblob field in a table that stores pics and other files. I am developing a Java application that needs to retrieve the files from the database and view them. I know that the longblob fields are binary data. Could you please provide me with some sample code that will at least retrieve the file from the database and save it on the user's hard disk?
If there is a way to store a file as blob, then there should be a way to retrieve...

lionelm2007 started a topic How to create a table (many-to-many association) from the primary keys of tables?in MySQLHow to create a table (many-to-many association) from the primary keys of tables?
In mysql, I need to create a table to store the many-to-many relationship of the other two tables.
Here is the problem:
the first table has three fields that act as the primary key of the table
the second table has only one field for the primary key
i know the association table will have the primary keys of both tables as its own primary key but it seems that I can't do that. It appears... -
It makes sense. Sometimes I don't think how the machine and printer communicate to output the report. I just want the report to work. Thank you for your input.
Since you mentioned that, I was thinking, could it be that when you "size to fit" the label controls, they could shrink a bit on another computer with a different printer driver and you would see missing letters.
I just tried to change the font size... -
So how could I develop a database application that is printer independent. I am pretty sure there are a lot of access developers who develops database applications for their client. Do they tell their clients that they should have the same printer and driver that they have.
Any suggestions?...Leave a comment:

Access 2003 report appears differently on different machine?
When I view a report in another machine, it looks slightly different. First of all, the logo in the report heading does not show up when you print, also in print preview, you can see the last letter is missing from several texts.
I have read other postings online and have done why they asked to check. I have checked that the printer settings are the same for both machines and the same fonts are installed (ie arial). Both machines are... -
How do I overwrite a record in a table with an existing primary key?
Hi there,
I have an update query that will insert a record from another table into an empty table.
If I change ie a field in a record i like to overwrite that record in the table. This is not allowed and it says that you are inserting 0 record when the query is run.
How do I solve this? -
Hi there,
I understand that a append query will insert a record from one table to another. If I allow duplicate values for a particular field, it will allow more than one record for the particular field.
The new table should have a primary key called ProductionRunID and for each production run id it will have a recipe. There has to be way where I can change the product and the new insert record should overwrite the old...Leave a comment:

Hi there,
I have a form called Production Run and has a field to select a product. I would like to grab the recipe for a particular product from product recipe table, do some calculations on the fields and insert the most up to date recipe into another table called tblProductionRu nUsage. I can then display the most up to date for each production run as a subform on the main production run form. The reason I am doing this to save the... -
How to enforce the one to many relationship?
Hi there,
I have two tales that are in one to many relationship. For every ewo (enhanced work order) record there is at least one ewo status record.
How do you enforce this constraint in access?
Right now, I have ewo status table as a subform and have tried to set the fields of ewo status table to NOT NULL within the table. However, when there is no focus on any of the field, the user can save the ewo...
