  • Okay ... I just took the Microsoft Online "Queries II". I think that I can say use the expression >June 30, 2008 for the From Field and the expression <August 1, 2008. Yes? I'll let you know if that works!...

  • Thanks for trying to help me, fellow newbie! That makes sense, I'll read up on make table queries ... I've probably done them without knowing ;^!

In the example that I will try, my "date range" is made up of two separate records, April 1, 2008 is in the field "From" and September 30, 2008 is in the field "To". Will the query be able to find all records for the range July 1, 2008 through July 31, 2008...

  • Create Form and ability to Query by Date to determine our Contract Obligation

I want to be able to program Access to provide for me, by individual day, what my contract obligations are to my customers. Will Access recognize all the individual days in between a date range (simply a "from" date and a "to" date)? Additionally, I need to delivery a specific quantity of product when the customer's inventory is within about parameter levels. EXAMPLE:

"During the Date Range January 1, 2010...

  • Customers With Multiple Addresses - How to list and select correct address on form?

I am not a coder, so please bear with me while I attempt to explain in only the surface language of Access. I have created a form to input all information about each of my customers. The base form is "Customers" . On top of this I have layered several subforms onto tabs.

The first tab is "contacts" The contacts tab subform contains all information about a particular contact; phone numbers, email, etc. I want...

  • Hi Rabbit,

Things are working properly now, but please see my new thread "How Common Are Work-Arounds" for more info on what I did to fix this!

    How Common are Work-Arounds?

I created a table "Contacts". In the table I included a look-up field so that I could look up and select "CompanyNam e" for each Contact.

Sometime later I must have changed the Data Type of "CompanyNam e" from Text to Number, Long Integer. Afterwards when I would create a report it was impossible to get the report to sort by "CompanyNam e" alphabetically, because it was sorting by ID number....

  • Thank you, Rabbit. I fixed item #2, but I am still having trouble with item #1.

I think that I need to create my "Contacts" report from a Query ... not by first making a table and then generating a report.... hard to explain... basically I think I dirtied up my database by joining two tables together creating a third table (CompanyTable + Contacts = MasterContactsT able). Somehow my CompanyName field ended up with a number...

Sort Report by Company Name Not Company ID

Two issues I need help with on the same report:

    1) I created a report called "Contacts". I grouped it by Company, then by the contact's role (marketing, invoicing, etc.). When I print the report I want it to be in alphabetical order by Company.

Each Company has an auto-generated ID Number and it is sorting by the ID number, not by the name of the company. (Maybe I made a mistake in assigning an ID Number...
