Hello,
I am working in Access 2003 to create a database to record information about an annual fundraiser. I was hoping someone could review my table structure and make sure that it is normalized correctly and that it is set up to do what I would like it to do. I have some doubts on my current table structure and I would really appreciate any suggestions for improvement before I move on to creating my data entery forms.

OK, I have continued to work on this database while awaiting a response to this question, and have discovered a few things. First of all, there now has to be an additional box in the Cascade, Country, as some of the enteries will be in Ireland. If I understood your post correctly my relationships between city state and zip that had referential entegrity and update cascade and delete cascade were causing the problems with my cascading comboboxes and you suggested that I remove the cascade settings from my database.

I can also see where seperating the locations from the events would make quering easier but I have a couple of questions and concerns about your proposed table structure.

Again, I thank you for all your help on this. I will try to describe what I am trying to do as concisely as I can and with as much logic as I possess. This database is for a Museum giftshop and it is complicated. I think that the easiest way to describe how I intend the database to work is to go through what would happen with each item that we stock.

This is the first database that I have created using anything beyond the wizzards, I took a two day course on access and learned how much more it could do so now I am at the stage where I know just enough to be dangerous ;) Thank you so much for even trying to attempt to understand all of this. Hello, I am working in Access 2003 on an inventory database. Right now I am working on a report which will be used to fill in forms that our state requires periodically to collect taxes.
Right now I have a query that determines the items that have sold between two dates and calculates the Gross Sales, Tax Collected and Sales Including Tax. This query is set up with the following SQL:
