Well, I feel like a fool but I figured it out this morning. Apparently, I needed to set the anonymous access user name of the parent directory to the name that was authorized to access the virtual directory. -

My problem is as follows:
I am using IIS 5.1 with .net 1.1
I have a shared folder on a different computer on our network which I want to add as a virtual directory on my computer so that I can use

the problem is that I can only gain access to this virtual folder from my asp page when i set impersonate="tr ue"... -
