I have an app that opens an excelsheet about 4MB and does some nice business logic and save into another excel sheet. Checking from file sizes you mention, creating individual files is simply running away from the actual problem. I think you code needs major reworking to improve on efficient use of memory.Leave a comment:

You don't know what you have been missing, welcome to the light.
You just need to understand IOC as explained by Josah, we also the Tapestry framework that makes use of IOC for web based applications.Leave a comment:

further to Jos' idea of synchronising the static method, the constructor should be private so that noone instantiates it except itself.

Thanks, if selecting from the sysobjects, one may have to specify the type, lest you get all the objects....Leave a comment:

SQL Server 2005 Metadata
Does SQL Server 2005 have system tables that you can select to see meta data about a table? I have seem such tables in Oracle.
I would like to retrieve certain tables properties for analysis and comparisons

usually when u are inserting a new record you don't specify the object id, by specifying the id you are telling hibernate to update an existing object.
I see you have enabled the option to see the SQL hibernate generates, what is it generating, is it and INSERT or UPDATE?Leave a comment:

A little googling will help you find something called jfreechart or something along those lines.Leave a comment:
