  • Only one database exists. So any way the application's database should be pointing to the database. What changes do i make so that the login screen gets the database name by default, without me typing the database name.

Any changes to any of the server files need to be done? Please help.

  • I made changes to formsweb.cfg file........... ... now the login screen is appearing without showing the error.......... .... but the database to which it is pointing is not coming......... in the sense, i'll have to give the database name once the login screen comes up............ Instead i want it to ask me user id and password only and the database text field should get populated by itself......... . Any help here......

  • can we retrieve data from oracle in-built tables using oracle forms?

    hi,
My question is can we retrieve data from oracle in built tables like dba_users, dba_roles, dba_role_privs on to a text field using oracle forms. If yes then what're the privileges that needs to be assigned? How can this be done. What other criteria needs to be satisfied?
If the answer is no, then what could be the other probable solution to this. Can any one help on this as this is quite urgent and important for me.

  • Do you mean to say that even the application user should have the system privileges to create the oracle user? Is this really possible via Oracle Forms.

  • debasisdas thanks for the valuable suggestion.
But we are trying to create an application (using oracle forms) which has many roles. And we'll give access to one role for this menu option. But is it necessary that this user as the same privileges as SYS?(for the appliation). This could be a problem to us as the user who logs into the application is not a SYS but has previleges as that of a DBA and still he shud be able to create a new oracle...

"create oracle user" using procedure in oracle

    hi,
    i've one question.
I'm supposed to create oracle user on click of a button using oracle forms.
I'm calling a procedure which i've written in sql+ which is supposed to create the user.
The problem is that i'm able to create user by writing execute immediate statement in the procedure, but i'm not able to grant connect to the user. Hence i'm getting "admin option not granted for role connect." error.
