I am trying to count the number of occurrences of a certain field.

if {PrtCnMem_1.Prt CnMem_1_Standin g} = "active" then "1"

then, I want to count the number of "1" but every formula I have tried comes back an error. I also tried using a running total field, but that isn't getting the right number either. Getting frustrated. Please help.
