    Top Value Per Unique ID?

    Hi There

Trying to figure out how to do this was hoping for some advice.

I have two tables. The first holds the store details with store id, store name etc. The second table holds the Store Status eg new, lfl, refit, resite and so on.

I would like to run a query which finds the "top" value per store id.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

    Many Thanks

    Day View Calendar

    Hi All

Currently having a massive headache trying to create a day-view calendar for a small hairdressing program.

I am using Visual Basic 2005 Express.

I have searched the internet for hours trying to find some code that might be useful in creating a ms outlook style calendar.

No such look - well not for free anyway.

Does anyone have any ideas on how this could be generated?...

Sorry if i stick to the bit I am confused about.

The problem is with pulling through a stores status "as at" a date.

    For example

    Week 1 - New
    Week 2 - New
Week 3 - Like for Like
Week 4 - Like for Like

If in the status table I want to find the top value for a store, I want to be able to find it "as at" week 1, week 2, week 3 so that the correct status...

    Ok sorry, its quite complicated.

The report currently feeds from the downloads, and sums the weeks value.

This Week - Like for Like
Last Week - Like for Like

    Cum - Like for Like
    Cum - New

For example, a store opened on the 1st of October 2006.

Our financial year starts in Feb, so the report would hold feb through to october this year in the cumulative columns...

    top value question...

    Hi All

Was hoping to get some advise on a project i am doing for work. We're a retail business and report sales figures on a weekly basis.

at the moment the reports are generated in excel, and are very laborious!

I entend to have the following tables:

    * Store
    * Store Status (subdatasheet)
    * Sales Info

the sales info will be downloaded from the accounts system...

    replied to Touch Screen Buttons?
    hi mmccarthy

i was thinking about the buttons because the user would effectively type part of the name - the form then automatically updates to show the "matches" below.

as it will be touch screen, i thought buttons would be perhaps more user friendly than a drop box??

    thanks

    Touch Screen Buttons?

    Hi There,

    Unfortunately, back again :-(

As part of this all singing all dancing salon database - (which FishVal kindly helped with the appointment side) I'm onto the searching of customers....

I have a form where the search function works great with a keyboard. I was wondering whether it would be possible to have some buttons in the form footer a through to z which put that letter in the relevant text...

    Thanks FishVal

That works great. Only problem being is that exact duplicates can be created.

I have tried looking into the DCount function as you have demonstrated, but I cant get this to work.

    Thanks

    Hi FishVal

Not having much luck with this - I know I must be doing something wrong!

I have added the function to the form, and have added a "run ValidateTimeSlo t()" in the form before update

It is coming up with an error cant find the procedure "True"

    Code:
     Private Sub Form_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer)

    Run ValidateTimeSlot()

    End
    ...

    Hi FishVal

    Yes I think so.

Just a message box to notify the user, that Chair 1 is booked for specified time, please book to "chair 2" or select another date/time.

Any ideas how to perform this?

Im feeling really wet, I have tried sinking my head in books - but no good - nothing seems to go in depth about validation - and if it does it doesnt go near date/time.

    Thanks...

    Hi FishVal

I've been mulling over this one whilst at work today...

I was thinking of some sort of validation when booking an appointment. If give a stylist say 2 chairs. When booking an appointment the default will be "Chair 1".

But, if an appointment already exists during the timeslot of the new appointment perhaps a popup box saying Change to "Chair 2" or change Date/Time.

    Hi FishVal

Sorry to be a pain, is there possibly a way of showing all the records in a table but marking one of the duplicates in some way?

At the moment the "normal" appointments are given a numerical value to give a left value on the report, the desired outcome would be - if a duplicate to do normal left value + some extra.... so that the appointments do not overlap when producing the report.

    Hi FishVal

    Table Structure:

    ID, AutoNumber
    Customer. Number
    Stylist, Number
    Appt Date, Date/Time
    StartTime, Date/Time
    EndTime, Date/Time
    Descr., Text

I am trying to design a report, in an "outlook" style, so I am using VB to position and size the appointments.

The reason for the query is to find the duplicate, and to alter the "left"...

    Iif query

    Hi All

Trying to write a query using an "Iif" statement.

The database I am creating is for hair salon appointment managment.

The thing is, stylists can book more than one client in a given slot. Eg 10:00 - 11:00 they have Client "A" and 10:30 - 11:00 they have Client "B".

I would like to write a query where if they were to book another client in - it would...

replied to Positioning objects using VB
    Hi There

I have managed to sort out this problem. Using the "TimeValue" function. I think with saving the field as "date/time" in access even when only typing a time, it attaches a date to it too.

By using the TimeValue, i have been able to eliminate the error.

    Many Thanks

    Positioning objects using VB

    Hi There

Usually in the access forums, but trying to get a little more adventurous... Unfortunately not having much luck!

Trying to achieve an "Outlook" type calender for a report in access. Very similar to the example on http://www.access.hookom.net/Samples.htm

[CODE=vb]Private Sub Detail_Format(C ancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)Dim TopMargin As Long
    Dim OneMin As Long
