If anyone is interested, the issue ended up being a corrupt profile. My sys admin cleared my Windows profile and reinstalled the iSeries Client Access Library for Windows and everything worked fine. -
Right.
To clarify - I've copied the connection string from the application that works correctly and changed the hostname. Since the two servers are identical (one is for testing, the other for production), I've only changed the hostname.
When I supply the problematic connection string to the working application, it connects fine and executes accordingly. Since I'm testing both applications locally, it's puzzling to...Leave a comment:

Hmm, I'm thinking that's probably not the case, because I'm using the exact same connection string in a different application with no issues. The only thing that's changed is the hostname supplied.Leave a comment:

[C#, WEB, ODBC] iSeries Access ODBC Address Resolution Issue
Greetings,
I'm having a bit of trouble with a small web service I've been writing, specifically with the connectivity aspect of the service.
My scenario is as follows :
I'm using the IBM iSeries Access ODBC driver to connect to an iSeries (i5/OS, V5R4) midrange box. I've used this driver and a similar DSN in the past with no problems.
When an attempt to open a connection is made, an exception... -
Greetings, beebee
Just to make sure I'm understanding your problem correctly - you're forwarding a user to an ASP.NET page from another page or web service. The landing page reads values from the QueryString object and then plugs the values returned into another function call.
A couple of quick questions -
- What's your forwarding statement? Are you using Server.Transfer or Response.Redire ct or...?
- Where is

monkiller,
If you wish to bring the window of the application already running to focus, you might try this modified bit of code -
...Code:Private Declare Function SetForegroundWindow Lib "user32.dll" Alias "SetForegroundWindow" (ByVal hWnd As IntPtr) As IntPtr Private Function IsRunning() As Boolean Dim CurrentProcess As Process = Process.GetCurrentProcessLeave a comment:

Greetings, Monkiller.
I'm glad that it worked for you. I'm a little confused about your question - Do you want to show the active form when it's not running? Or do you mean you wish to display the process ID / process name? Or something else entirely?
My apologies if I'm misunderstandin g the scenario. When you have an opportunity, if you could post a clarification it would be most appreciated.
Thanks,...Leave a comment:

You might use some code like the following -
...Code:Private Function IsRunning() As Boolean Dim CurrentProcess As Process = Process.GetCurrentProcess For Each p As Process In Process.GetProcessesByName(CurrentProcess.ProcessName) If (p.Id <> CurrentProcess.Id) Then If p.MainModule.FileName.ToLower.Equals(CurrentProcess.MainModule.FileName.ToLower) ThenLeave a comment:

I will give that a try ASAP and report my results.
Oh, and thanks for the link, Jos. It didn't address this particular issue, but it did help me with another unrelated problem I was experiencing....Leave a comment:

Yes, sir. I tried changing the length attribute (same error) and removing it entirely (and received a "attribute NULL is not allowed for type int" error message)...Leave a comment:

The PCML file works in old legacy code (currently running in the production environment), but has never functioned in this new project.
The file itself remains unchanged....Leave a comment:

PCML Specification Errors using JT400
Greetings!
My scenario is such - I'm wrapping a Java web service around a set of RPG programs that live on one of my company's i-Series (AS/400) midrange computers. To faciltate the connectivity between the Java application server and the i-Series box, I'm using IBM's Toolbox for Java.
My circumstances allow me to use previously-written PCML specification files in my code. I can verify that these PCML files are in use...
