    common dialogue box

why can't I get the coomon dialogue box control to work?! I wish to change the font colour, save a file to disk and recall it agin, ready for editing.
I have tried numerous examples using code already provided for me, but still I get nothing what am I doing wrong?

I, have sorted that bit! A result! The next thing is, when I go to enter text in the text box, it disappears, when I press the command button again, it reappers, oddly enough, with the text still in it. What is the way to keep the text box visible all the time?

  • Hi I'm afraid I don't know your solution, but I wonder, could I be cheeky? I am trying to write a program that has 17 text boxes on it, each being hidden until the appropriate button is pressed. I would like to be able to have input from the box I am using (i.e. January, Febuary, etc, put into another (hidden) text box automatically, similar, I think, to what you are doing. Is it possible to share some code? I am a complete beginner though.

Hi thanks very much for replying to a junior member. I understand your code, but when I apply it and then press run, I get a blank screen. What am I doing wrong?
It seems anything stronger than a command button and I'm lost, even when using tutorisals.

Hi, a complete idiot would like some help with the following: I have 17 command buttons, which I would like to assign 17 text boxes to. The boxes are to be hidden, until the appropriate button is pressed. When the text box appears, I need to be able to add data to it, and then save it somewhere for future reference. I have tried using the combo box, but I cannot get it to work, even following examples in the books. Can anybody help me with this?...
