Is windows 8 upgrade from Windows 7 worth it?

Considering upgrading from windows 7 to windows 8.

    Is it worth it?
Should I get a touch screen monitor?
What are some good touch screen monitors?

Any other things i should be when updating from 7 to 8?

It's worth the update, you don't need a touch screen monitor. Touch works well for tablets, but can be confusing with a keyboard and mouse on a desktop.

I would get a touch screen monitor, it's an amazing experience in tile mode. It makes some tasks easier. It take a while to get used to, but well worth it.

Windows 8 is actually speedier than windows 7, just that alone is worth the update.

Windows 8 is a nice system, though it does need some getting used to. Don't expect it to work like previous versions of Windows because in many cases it doesn't.

As to touch screens, it is clear that Windows 8 was designed with touch screens in mind and I personally prefer using parts of it that way; it is however quite usable with a mouse only. If possible maybe try it with and without one (e.g. in a shop), just to find out whether you think it's worth spending those extra dollars on a touch screen.
