Can someone tell me how to get access to command line functions in windows xp sp3, when i run cmd.exe then ping ipconfig, telnet ftp etc from the cl i get the "is not recognized as an internal or external command...." error.
commands such as dir, cd etc work, but progs in the sytem32 folder dont work. my path var is ok and when i type path in the cl it returns the correct vals "c:\windows\sys tem32" etc. funnily enough my firewall used to show a pop up when using ping, now it cant even block ping but still blocks everything else i ask it, well everything so far. anyone know how to fix this, i dont want to have to format/reinstall... also i have no suspicous progs running, or viruses etc of any kind. thanks john g
