Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly. however it will play sound from the internet What can i do to fix this problem?

I think you primary Sound Device is not set to the sound driver you installed -
I think you might need to update your sound drivers. Go to the device manager and check the version number of the driver and Google it to see if there is an update. I personally have had better luck downloading and installing the drivers myself than using the update driver option in the device manager. I'm a Newbie too, you just have to keep sh.....g around with it and you'll figure it out.Comment
