    alien to problem

    hi
    i have got a big problem and tired of finding the solution throughout the net but didn't proved to be helpful.
    please help me out..
    previously it was working fine but after few days it shows a problem.i am connected to local area network internet connection and haven't installed anti virus in my computer .i think to some extent that this problem is caused due to virus.
    what happens is that everytime i turn my computer ,,,windows starts but my documents folder suddently opens after every start up as well i could not see my desktop icons and taskbar ,startbutton also..
    when i close my documents folder then my computer stays neutral how can i operate without having anything unseened on my computer...
    when i try to work nowadays i dont close my documents folder and browse desktop from there with windows explorer where i can see all my desktop icons and i use internet through the icon provided there. this has become a serious problem for me ..i f anyone has got the solution please help me out.....
    solutions i tried provided in net was to run explorer.exe from task manager ..
    another system restore but none helped me is there any solution?????or i need to format my system??/?

    If i am understanding your post correctly, you are starting your PC and as soon as you get into Windows your My Documents folder opens up and you can't see anything else when you close it.

    Sounds like it could be a virus, when you did the system restore you probably restored back to a version that also had this virus or issue that you are currently having.

    My suggestion is to format the drive and start over. After you do that make sure you have some kind of Anti- Virus installed on your pc.


    Question...Do you download a lot of files? (Music, Pictures, Software)

      Why not try to login using a different user account, see if you face the same problem. You can always create a user account as long as you have have access to the control panel.

      Stang02GT was correct, corrupted user profiles shows almost similar problem on Windows XP. I strongly suggest to have antivirus software installed before access network i.e LAN / WAN
