IE 8 changes

I have a new laptop with Vista Home and Internet Explorer 8. I can't find settings in this new version of IE to make my work easier.

Is there a way to do a series of "Save As" to any folder other than Pictures? IE8 will save to the selected folder as long as I don't change tabs, but IE7 remembers where I want to save. Can I set another location for saves?

When I opened a new tab with IE7, they were immediately to the right of the current tab. Successive opens were each to the right of the prior Open New Tab. IE8 doesn't have an option that I can find to do this, and opens the first of the string somewhere further to the right. Sometimes beyond the visible tabs. Any way to set this?

When you hit Ctrl+T in Internet Explorer 8 a new tab should be opened to the right of the rest of the tabs automatically.

If you go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options you can configure how your tabs behave by clicking the Tabs->Settings button under the General tab.

Been there, done that, Options is correct, "Open new tabs next to the current tab" is checked. If I select a link and right-click and select "Open in New Tab", is sometimes opens to the right of the previously opened tab. This is correct if I haven't changed tabs, but if I have changed tabs, I expect the next new tab to be IMMEDIATELY to the right of the current tab.

Hmm I don't think that's ever been the behaviour of tabs.
