    here is the situation
My laptop has two HDD the first one, which is the one contains the pre-intalled vista I managed to install Windows 7 on the second, but now am willing to put on that latter XP Pro.
    here is the problem:
whene I partioned my second HDD and boot up from XP CD the partition is not present. How can I make this partition active?
    thx in advance.
PS: the fourth OS is Ubuntu and its unstalled as a simple program on the first HDD

You might want to do a little research on this before you attempt to install XP after Vista and Windows7. Normal multiboot procedure would be to install the oldest OS first and work up to the newest. If you do manage to get XP to install it will overwrite the boot loader for Window7 and you will loose access to both Vista and Windows7.

If you use Google you will be able to find information on Installing XP after Vista, but with Windows7 still being in beta I doubt if there will be much available on installing it after Windows7. The informaiton the you find for Vista might work but I wouldn't count on it.
