Has your HD been setup in the BIOS yet?

What I meant is. Does your BIOS reconize the HD? If is is it enabled?

Do you have your BIOS setup to boot from the CD first?

You are going to have to recheck your HD conections to the power supply and to the mother board. Also check any jumpers on the back of the HD.

You say it doesn't see the CD either? Try disconnecting the HD, make sure it's set to boot from CD first and see what happens.

** IMPORTANT ** your first boot device has to be CD if you want to install to a HD without an OS already on it.

I wonder: How exactly are you determining, that the BIOS isn't detecting anything? Because the error might be right there in the way you're using it. Could you give us a step-to-step list of what you do?

                  Greetings,
                  Nepomuk

After pressing DEL to get into your bios and while still in your bios, check to see if your CD\DVD drive is being detected. If it isn't, try a different CD\DVD drive and\or data cable.

If your DC\DVD does show up in your bios then get yourself a new Windows install CD.

How about supplying some specs on your system.

Were you using 2 separate cables to connect your HD and your CD? If not had you configured the jumpers on the HD and CD drive so that 1 was the master and one was the slave?

Most modern motherboards have multiple IDE channels so you should be able to connect the CD to one channel and the HD to another channel which is the best option.

Did you then scan for the drives in BIOS? Because some BIOSes don't recognise them automatically, you have to instruct them to search. Normally, there should be an option "Automatica lly find Devices" or something like that.

                              Greetings,
