Hi, I'm in the proccess of building a windows installer from the ground up and I was wondering if there is anyway to change a file types icon with DOS commands? Any information at all would be really appreciated.

I'm not sure if there's any predefined command to do that, but knowing the file format for shortcuts could help.

Yes, just update the registry
See on specialized Win32 api newsgroup :

I checked that newsgroup and couldn't find the information you mentioned - could you maybe quote it here?
Also, not everybody knows how to use newsgroups, so posting such a link can be confusing for some people.
Anyway, thanks for the tip!
