prevent downloading software

sir, i know that in explorer there is a setting for prevent downloading software but at that time i can'nt remember it . so please tell me about this setting.

assuming you are using internet explorer...

check under ' tools ' , ' internet options' , then click on the security tab and select ' custom level ' and check through the settings

if you mean on a LAN then you are better editing the group policy for the computer / users
