Iam a sys admin in a firm and iam asked to give a configuration list of a server profile. As there are a lot of new servers now a days and also from the net i got some information still iam confused with it. About my organization iam having 200 systems connected on lan network of which 50 systems use internet connection. Most of the systems use Linux as we recommend them to be used. Currently we are using a centerlized concept with 2 ISPs connected to the net. We are also having ftp servers, squid servers, dns servers and apache servers working. In future the company will link their branches and also upgrade their levels of computers, so they have asked me to give a configuration of servers with could be effectively utilzed with high performance with linux and windows , their configurations and specifications, ram needed, processor required, to be supported in rack or not etc. With this conguration the existing servers will be converted to them. SoPlease do help me ....
