Upgrade to IE7. Even if you don't use it, your computer will be safer from creepy crawly things on the net and the install should fix whatever is broken at the moment. You'll probably have to tell FF to be your default browser again, but that's no big deal.

Do as Barton said... Also check for Windows updates at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and get whatever updates they offer there... Then let us know what is up...

Also if Your messager is still not working after all that I would suggest unistalling it and reinstalling it and see how that goes.

      Good luck

With my experience with MSN messenger, if the system time (in the taskbar) is wrong it won't log u in, i don't know if yahoo shares that same feature but it's good to make sure your clock is right.

if the time is set correctly and yahoo messenger still won't let u in, do what Chrisjc said...reinstal l it.

That is instesting considering the clock could only go wrong VIA the batt being out.. but even then it only slows down... how the hell would MSN / Why would they care if the clock is right.... in the first place.. Wonder if it has anything to do with times of sending messages in there server... ha never knew this.

do a google search for this error code "80048820", u'll find alot of people that couldn't login cuz their system time was wrong, some even how to reset some dll's. I don't know y msn is monitoring the system time but i do know they are.
