Stay far far away from Norton software. Period. They suffer from major bloat in everyting they do. (Just my opinion)
Free AV anything is good.
I actually pay for AV from ComputerAssocia tes becuase I get email anti spam and search indexing and some other benefits.

so,how to update free AVG?actually i use norton before this and i will download virus definition every week to make norton status is active.it is because i should not online to make live update.

I would hope that AVG updates like everybody else, but I haven't tried it.

They didn't use to be, they used to be competing companies producing more or less similar products, but now they are 1 company.

Personaly I use Symantec Corp Edition and I have no issues.. I do not how ever like how Nortan and Symantec are one now but whatever I am not all for that Nortan GUI the Symantec verisons are still LEET

And Free AVG by the way does get updates! It is actaully really good for being free!

That's a very cynical view.

I can't conceive of a person with nothing better do that cause damage to other's systems, but I'm sure that it's not the AV companies (especially the ones that offer free protection) who provide a valuable service.

Sounds like something we would all like to believe sometimes due to the fact "Now days if you don’t have a scanner you can kiss your PC good bye after a good week of SURFING on the web" Sad but true. Most Standard users do not know what is "SAFE or to LOOK FOR" to avoid such issues, but this is why such Forums as this one are here for =)

Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition by far the best! I have been using it religiously for the past 5 years =)

c**p is norton. I use AVG FREE picks up viruses that norton does not
