Is this from the keyboard only, or does this problem happen from the menu also?

How about mouse commands when you highlight something and try to right click it and copy paste, does that work?

How about opening a word document and using the Edit> Cut Copy Paste commands?

I my self am having an issue with my "ENTER" key... I have been trying to find the issue but it only happens only so often for me to forget about or not care... Normaly FIX able by a reboot...

I believe this to be a bug of some sort in windows its self I am currently looking for a solution.....

but if anyone find something first seem we can all use some advice.

              Thanks

I had the same problem once (a few years ago).
It turned out it was a side-effect from a date-triggered virus.

I had to set my computer clock back to before August 2002 (Might be wrong about the year) in order for Windows Update and anti-virus software to work properly. Once that was done the update and the anti-virus software took care of the problem.

Another common reason is that something is hogging your resources.
This can often lead to keyboard shortcuts and right-click menus not being triggered.
If you open some more applications and/or browser instances the new windows might stop working alltogether.
From what I understand your problem occurs a while after you have rebooted, so I would try to disable some of your "start with windows" applications, and exit some of the system tray application (one by one till you find the problem application).

I registered here to post this, so I'll try to remember to re-visit once in a while ;)

Describe your hardware... Are you using any wireless keyboard or mouse? Are the ps2 or usb? Serial!!?? what is your cpu usage when you type and are there any policies? In other words are your profiles limited?

                    Cyber.
