Internet Explorer Home page problem!!!

Hi All,

I have a problem that internet explorer home page was disabled by a virus site.

Even though I tried in

i.e from tools menu -->internet options -->home page -- address is set by a virus.

so when am using explorer that web page is automatically opening.

How can I set it into 'about blank'.

can any one tell me the process in detail.

deword above values in regedit your problem will solved

select the above bold letters and past in notpad and save it by ?name


right click the saved file and select open with choose the programas as below

I too have the same problem

Are u sure, this solves the problem... I did't find any improvement..
Further, I am not seing Internet Options under tools menu.

Another dirty problem is, Every HTML program, when source code is opened
it gets appended with rubish VB SCript code, which is strange and not
a part of my HTML program..

Can any body take this and reply for solution.

Dear Members, (Thanks in advance to sashi.. an Senior and expert member)

I have two problems eating my mind.

1. Problem with IE 5.5 on Windows 98.
I am not able to see Internet Options under tools menu to set my home
page. It is automatically setting by itself. Further, when I view
source code, the code is appended with unwanted VB Script code
which is strange to see. It has become a great head-ache.. Can any
body solve my problem.

2. When the system is on, Desk top is not shown.

I have to do
start->settings->desktop--customise-->background--> some option then ok.

Then desktop is visible. Is there any solution to getout of that problem.

please help me out. thanks members.

i have the same problem: a virus site applied to my explorer and i cannot get rid off it. I followed what you write of the dword value but nothing changed , so please find me a better solution for that problem.....
